This study was done by NPA Conseil for the European Audiovisual Advisory Observatory.

  • 142 paying VoD Services in 24 European countries in 2006
  • 59.1% of European VoD Service delivered by internet
  • High level of development of boradband is a key factor of development of VoD
  • Telecom operators / ISP are the main providers of VoD Services in Europe
  • iTunes Video stores as the first pan-european VoD service

This presentation from Orange was presented at the Mobile TV World conference in Roma.

  • A single mobile TV / video offer, with seamless handover across broadcast and unicast networks must be developed
  • Mobile TV service has been launched in all European Orange-FT subsidiariesred by internet: 6 million Orange customers in Europe can access Mobile TV
  • Total European market could count 50M users subscribing to mobile Tv in 2011 (source:IDate)
  • Beside Live TV, VOD, interactivity and enhanced services should drive ARPU increase
